I'm 25 today! 25 things you didn't know about me...

1. IM ALLERGIC TO PEN INK
Certain pen inks leave me with horrendous swollen skin and rashes. When I was young my friends drew glasses, a harry potter scar, a fish and lightening bolt on my face when I fell asleep and I was left with rashes in them shapes and a swollen face. Ever since then, pen on my skin causes rashes, some worse than others

2. ACNE SINCE I WAS 11
I've always been very open about my poor skin however I have also tried to hide it under make up. Sometimes I feel super confidence and can embrace it, other days I recoil in horror at the thought of anyone seeing my spotty self

3. IM NOT A SWEET OR SAVOURY PERSON, I ENJOY BOTH JUST AS EQUALLY!
Give me cake or a packet of crisps, I've never been one for choosing one or the other, give me a main and a dessert any day! I love a whole 3 courser meal and I'm not ashamed of it

4. DREAM JOBS INCLUDE WEDDING PLANNER, INTERIOR DESIGNER OR A PUB OWNER
Obviously I love my job as a nurse however, we can all have dreams. I love weddings, the romance, the personal touches, the love it! It just makes me so happy to see peoples wedding pictures and hearing their stories. I love wedding venues too, if it wasn't weird I would love to go view them just for fun. I also love home decorating. I would love to spend hours on end buying homeware and styling any room of a home. I used to work behind a bar and absolutely loved it, I would love to have my own pub to call my own! Maybes I need a pub where I can decorate myself and host weddings....hm?

5. THE ONLY COLOUR MY HAIR HAS NOT BEEN IN GREEN
I've been every other colour expect green, either on purpose or accident I've probably had them all!

6. ANY GENRE OF MUSIC
From smooth jazz to heavy metal I would love any type of music. It all just depends on my mood. I am open to anything

7. WORMS
My friend at school once put worms in my hood and when it started to rain, there was obviously worms in my hair, down my school top everything. Since then, I am traumatised. I also have a maggot phobia too...

8. I USED TO HATE CHEESE, PIZZA, MCDONALDS, BACON AND CHOCOLATE
I used to HATE certain unhealthy foods when I was younger, it was so bizarre it wasn't the actual taste it was the fact they were so unhealthy I used to hate them. Despite this, these are probably my favourite foods as an adult!

9. SUNDAY'S
There is something about Sundays off work I just love. I love getting up around 8am, having a big breakfast, walking the dog, coming home and getting a sunday roast prepared or going to see our family and watching a movie and just pottering round the house getting organised for the week ahead. I also tend to do a face mask and do my nails on a sunday evening. I just love it, super chilled

10. ROBIN WILLIAMS
As a child I was obsessed with Robin Williams ever since I seen Mrs Doubtfire. I am obsessed, it is such a funny movie and he is a genius. When he died, I was partying in PowerHouse (a club in Newcastle) and the DJ announced that he had passed away and played House of Pain Jump around. Never had I cried so much on a night out I was heart broken. A few year prior my parents bought my the entire Robin Williams movie collection and I sat all day the next day binge watching everything. Still heartbroken to this day. RIP legend...

11. SERIAL KILLERS
Obviously they are horrible cruel people, but they absolutely fascinate me. How they can be so clever and so organised (well most of them) is crazy. Also, I love watching documentaries on how their minds work and what their motives were behind their killings is mind boggling. I would happily sit and binge watch murder documentaries all day and I am currently obsessed with My Favourite Murder pod cast

12. A LETTER FROM THE QUEEN
This is probably my proudest achievement ever. When it was the Queens Jubilee I was in Nursing Cadets (like a pre course to student nursing at university) I was asked to present a rose bush to the local papers in preparation for the Jubilee. We had our photos taken and my name was then placed on a plaque at South Tyneside Hospital which I was super embarrassed about at the time, now I am super chuffed. A few months later my manager came into our computer room on our study day and presented my letter to myself and I was so overwhelmed. The Queen had seen my picture! She said thank you for my hard work and to keep going. A little sad but I love it

13. I FAILED MY NURSING DISSERTATION 2 TIMES
I finished my nursing degree in 2016 but prior to this I failed my dissertation twice. Realistically, people would normally fail the whole course but as someone who normally scored 2:1 on their assignments I was devastated and was given the chance to redo my work. I resubmitted my second attempt and was told I failed again. I was heartbroken. I then was allowed to resubmit again (I still don't know why but I was lucky) and my work was passed to a new assignment marker and I passed with 54%. Thank god! I was so lucky

14. SCOLISIS
Ever since my early teenage years I have suffered with sore joints and a sore back for years and was told that it was possibly just due to growing pains as a teen. When I hit early 20's I was still in agony to the point I would have joint pain so bad that my back would seize up and I couldn't walk properly and ended up in ED. I eventually seen a specialist and was told I have curvature of the spine and hyper mobile joints. Touch wood, I don't need surgery but I do need vitamins every day and pain killers to ease the pain and side effects. A real life Forrest Gump

15. NAVY BLUE
It's my favourite colour, along with green, grey and black!

16. PLASTIC SURGERY
I had my ears reshaped and pinned at the age of 12. I had such flat, sticky out ears that would stick through my hair when it was down and I used to hate it. I was lucky enough to have the surgery and now I have such little dinky ears

17. I USED TO WRITE FOR A FASHION MAGAZINE
Still as an avid fashion lover, I find this still a really cool fact about myself. I used to write a fashion piece for a university magazine every month which unfortunately doesn't run any more but I used to love it

18. I'VE WRITTEN FOR A WEDDING MAGAZINE
Alternative Wedding Magazine kindly let me write an article for them this year and I am so chuffed with it! I've never fancied myself as a magazine writer however I love when the opportunity arises

19. LOCH NESS MONSTER
I can't quite remember where my obsession started but I remember myself and my friend Emily from secondary school would send each other videos of the loch ness monster on MSN from youtube (so cool I know) and ever since I've been amazed by it. I even have a link saved on my phone to watch a live cam of the loch incase I ever spot nessie. It's a 24 hour camera so I can check any time haha!

20. MY FAVOURITE PLACES IN THE WORLD IS NORTHUMBERLAND AND EDINBURGH
I love Scotland. I would happily move to Scotland in a heart beat if Rob could find a job that suited him up there. For now, we live in Northumberland and I bloody love it. I was originally from Gateshead and hated there area I lived in. Northumberland was such an eye opener, living super close to the countryside and the beach is just delightful.

21. I WANT TO LEARN THE DRUMS
I simply love rock music and I always love to listen to the drumming behind every song and I have always thought I would thoroughly enjoy drumming lessons! Definitely a must have for my bucket list

22. I AM GETTING MARRIED IN 2021
This year my wonderful other half Rob proposed whilst on holiday in Moniavie, Scotland. Pretty much as soon as we got back home we had started arranging the venue and everything else to go with it and 2021 is our lucky year!

23. CHRISTMAS
Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love the happiness of it, the festive events and gift giving. I love getting gifts but if I could give people gifts all year round I love looking in shops for people's gifts and thinking 'yeah they'll love this' and seeing people use or love any gift I've given them is just the nicest feeling

24. FAVOURITE ANIMALS
Owls and flamingos are my favourite animals ever. I love birds, I'm not sure why by I find them so fascinating. I also love hedgehogs, hippos and elephant seals. Odd mix but hey ho

25. PERFUME
I go through SO much perfume it's quite shocking. I could go through a large bottle of perfume in 3 weeks as I am obsessed with smells. Same goes for cans of deodorant. I go through 1 a week. I have a phobia of smells and I would die if I smelled like B.O or anything else other than perfume.
