OUR COVID STAYCATION IN CUMBRIA
Hi lovely people. Welcome back to my blog. This post wasn't a planned one as I aimed in having a social media break whilst I was away BUT I couldn't help myself as this shepard's hut has turned into one of my favourite staycation spots in the UK by far. Mire House Shepards huts was literally found though online searching through google as we wanted to stay in the Lake District, but we wanted somewhere dog friendly as we didn't want to leave Rodney with his dog sitters as we thought since we were staying in this country, we should take him with us. After some intense searching of dog friendly accommodation in the Lakes District, Rob came across Mire House Shepard's huts.
Although small and compact, this sweet hut was an absolute pleasure to stay in. We chose 4 nights as we weren't to sure if a week in such a small abode would be too much BUT we wish we stayed for 7 nights. It was fantastic and the owner was super lovely. The hut itself was well equipped...
^double bed (one of the most comfortable beds I have stopped in I must add)
^bathroom with a shower and a flushing toilet with a sink & white company towels (vvvvv posh) & plenty loo roll!
^microwave and hob with plenty kitchen utensils
^fresh face towels and toiletries
^outdoor hot tub (blissful after a long day hiking!!)
^more than enough parking space right outside your hut
^local taxi company info and info regarding the surrounding areas
^BONUS! home made scones, jam and cream. Shortbread locally made and fresh milk OH and a bunch of flowers
Situated in the lovely town Threlkeld near Keswick, there is nothing else you could need for this cute yet, fantastic hut. Theres a local pub within 1.5 miles walk or 5 minute drive that has the most beautiful beer gardens, a fantastic view of Blencathra (a buggar to climb, trust me) and a short drive from pooley bridge, cockermouth and other Lake District hot spots, it is the perfect getaway to blow the cobwebs away. The owner runs a working sheep farm and Rosie is a brilliant host, how she has the huts gleaming as well as running her farm I will never know. Simply breathtaking. You can't beat it.
